Community supported agriculture (CSA) programs enable community members to buy a "share" of the season's harvest. Typically, customers pay for the entire season share in advance, which in turn helps the local farm plan for the season, purchase seed, and cover other upfront costs. Once the season starts, CSA members pick up their shares weekly.
